Flipping the job

These 3mm plywood  cutouts are the same size as stations 7 and 12.  I used them to create stands to support the kayak with the strips on.

These are the original stands made to hold the stronback.

While making things - Fairing board made from scrap pine.  80 grit glued to the base.

My Japanese Pull Saw arrived - This Axe handle should do the job.
Handle Added - works very well - cuts through cedar like butter.

Kayak flipped - temporarily supported on old 64mm fire hose.  This is helpful while the stands are changed.

New stand supporting the kayak near station 7

New Stand supporting the kayak near station 12.

So i can only upload small videos here, instead I have whacked this one in youtube - lets see how this goes..

Oh Oh - problem!

At some point the inner stem has come unglued from the form.  In some places the Gap is 4 mm. More importantly the nose is no longer alligned.  I put a couple of cable ties around it and synched it down as much as possible.  The gap was slightly improved but I could not change the nose.   I created a spacer to realgin the top BUT this will change the shape from the plan.  The bottom of the inner step was still in the right place so in the end the boat will be a little longer.
Cable tie preventing further movement.
